| Madzhare nestles in the Lakatishka Rila valley, only 14km
to the west of Borovets. The village can be reached along a beautiful scenic
mountain road, or by the main road from Samokov. 20km further west, at the end of the road, is the skiing resort of Malyovitsa, where the locals go to ski. Because you're between the two at Madzhare, you have the choice of the bustle of Borovets or the magnificence of Malyovitsa. Also, 5km along the road towards Borovets is Beli Iskar, where more ski lifts will be built as part of the ‘Super Borovets’ project. |
Just 1 minute's walk away are a couple of small shops and a local restaurant
and bar. Where the village of Madzhare ends, the village of Govedartsi
begins. Here, at only 2km distant, you'll find a much busier place, with
plenty of shops and other amenities. There is also a small lift to a 1.4km
ski run in Govedartsi, which is due to be extended to 7km in
a year or so. If you like peace and tranquillity, how better to spend the summer days fishing for trout in the Black Iskar river, just 3 minutes' walk from your comfortable apartment! |
